NEW INTERVIEW WITH MKD SONGS
The Motivation of My Songs
MY SALVATION TESTIMONY
***Can you tell us about how you got saved.
I remember when I was growing up in the early 2000s here in Africa. Being spiritual was for the elderly and the ugly. It was rare to see young handsome people devoting their time to religious stuffs of prayer, meditation, study of the bible and preaching and teaching of the word of God. I remember at age 11, at children and youth bible fellowship, there were two young seniors 14years in church that did motivate me because they prayed nicely. The usual routine of life was you don't have a feeling for learning the word of God or not feeling to be taught by someone the word of God so you choose to do something you felt was more interesting. You don't pray like a religious leader or pastor, you don't know how to preach and you don't meditate. If you feel something bad going in your life is when you decide to pray and study, etc.
You feel the things of God aren't interesting and you want to watch movies or listen to secular music or get involved in what is trending in town, you know what am saying.
When you see someone being spiritual, you feel the person has a problem or is ugly or is an elderly person. You feel Worshipping God is boring and those who don't fit in the society are those who get involved in it. You try to be good, I know. But you think the best times of trying to be the best of you is when you "surrender or rededicate your life to Jesus Christ" but after a while when you choose not to watch or listen to something you feel isn't right for while, you get fed up and you begin feeling bored because in your mind those (what isn't right) are the real entertainment, then you come back to the usual routine, you know what am saying. You get back to everything you used to do before rededication
Lived like this for a while till 2006. I once attended some of the new revolution churches in 2006 where the youth there then were engrossed in Spiritual stuffs. Some of you have been in such places before I know. For me as at 2006, I had not really been to a place where young guys were so involved in Spiritual stuffs. I was invited by a lady to this Charismatic Church whose founder is a Ghanaian in Accra. There was modern day choreography and music. Everything was nice and very attractive. The preaching was awesome. I was very surprised when I realized such that such an event where the youth who were supposed to be dancing to the trending secular hiphop music and watching "love don't cost a thing, etc" you know what am saying, were here doing modern day gospel stuffs with event taken place closed to where I lived. I was so excited and happy. Actually, the program was once like a youth crusade. I decided I was going to be spiritual forever. I was 18 years old then. I decided from that Day to be spiritual so I went for all my parents literatures in the drawers that spoke about faith and love in Jesus. I got my first batch of miracles and testimonies around that time. I began not having my friends being close to me in such a light because my friends began seeing me as a boring person, we should not do this and that becaus.... or let's go read the Bible and talk about God,etc. I was a young guy then and needed more motivation. I remember another revolution in my life in 2006 that helped me maintain spirituality as a young guy was when I sat in a lvehicle close to the window at the back seat. The wind blew, the environment was kind of serene but I felt there was something missing in my life, I was lonely. As I gazed outside the windows of the car,I saw four guys dressed in modern apparels like they were models. One held a guitar, another a bible and the two others with them going for fellowship.i began to cry, I decided not to quit. Nothing could tell me to quit. All what I said so far happened after high school during the vacation. I had chosen to be a pastor and I was alone as an evangelist learning and having faith in Jesus and seeing some of the miracles the pastors perform in my life. I didn't stop, the lady that took me to the charismatic church encouraged me not to stop. The next year we had admission to the University campus where I studied Biological Sciences in the first year so as to write an exams to make it to Medical School.
ON campus, there were different groups and Associations to join. Religious groups, political groups, social groups, Health groups, department groups, etc. I joined the University campus Choir and the University Church fellowship Choir (CVC). It was entertaining to be with music people. I started seeing the trick in making sure people all over the world became glued to Spirituality in Africa and the whole world. The answer was modern day style of Gospel Entertainment and the working of the Holy Spirit. The style got me learning to be spiritual on my own all by myself. I was alone, some others were in groups. I wanted to make impact. I debated with people about God, it was very exciting. Some changed and began learning intensely about God. I preached to people who were like me when I wasn't spiritual from 2000 to 2006. Some were heavily motivated when I preached to them. Others felt that I wasn't a happy person because I wasn't in their eyes doing what was trending at their time. I was old school they felt. I didn't care about what they thought about me. I felt excited about what i did. I knew my life was better, I listened to gospel stuff in all genre back then. I spent most of my time preaching to them. They wanted something more. I had to trend, do something modern, something catchy and swagger. I remembered how I began the time I came to turning point never to stop studying and acting by faith. I decided to be a hiphop gospel artist and preaching as well on ground. In my music I communicated that the gospel wasn't boring and was intensily trendy by the kind of beats and lyrics style and rythm. The gospel had the power to have a positive, Godly and miracle effect in our health, positioning, Community life IN LOVE and prosperity. I dressed more hip, you know what am saying. I was 21 years then on campus, Level 300. That same year 2009 was when I released "we take Christ to the Schools" single. It was a banger. IT HAS BEEN EASIER PREACHING THE CORRECT WORD OF GOD THROUGH MODERN METHODS OF WHAT IS TRENDY and MORE LIFE. FOR EXAMPLE OUR WEBSITE IS TRENDY. AND THERE HAVE BEEN MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ON OUR PAGE WANTING TO READ ABOUT THE WORD OF GOD FROM OUR WEBSITE AND WE ARE IMPACTING AND IMPARTING THE WORLD FOR JESUS AND HIS SAVING POWER IN HIS MIGHTY NAME.
We (The group) are not rowdy, (MKD MISSIONS) walk in love and we are modern.
We doesn't refer to smoke, but 1st Person plural.
INTERVIEW WITH MKD SONGS
Host: Who is MKD Songs aka Daniel Mirakilo
MKD Songs: Let me start with Greetings from Ghana. You know, my real name is Daniel Aboagye. I'm a cool, calm, ambitious fellow doing all in my capacity to uphold God and our risen Lord Jesus Christ.
Host: Ok
MKD Songs: I'm a dancer, songwriter, singer, rapper, studio engineer and a music director. I've been in the music industry since 2005.
Host: That's quiet a long time. Tell us more about you.
MKD Songs: Growing up as a kid I was branded an apostle for my singing prowess. I used to sing a lot even at the age of 6 years and my family and friends held me in high esteem because of this.
Host: When did you start a professional music career?
MKD Songs: I became more committed to music in my High School Days in Pope John Senior High School. I began writing rap music usually talking about wild fictitious seemingly impossible stakes. We called that kind of rap "under" meaning deep, it wasn't demonic at all. One of the lines in the lyrics was " I took one step in a marathon race and won the best runner, or Methuselah was my younger brother",etc. Combined rap and my academics. Majority of akademiks and less of rap. I studied science and it was good you know. I love God and I did all my best to do what was right.
Host: You've still not answered my question about when you started a professional music career.
MKD Songs: I started a professional music career in the university. After High School during the break, I became an evangelist, very devoted to spiritual things. I do well remember the lady that made me spiritual and I have never regretted being spiritual. I decided to delve into gospel music recording in 2009 so as to win souls for Jesus Christ.I listened to Contemporary gospel music so much so I chose to do gospel rap and everything urban related to Gospel. I learnt to sing professionally when I joined music groups on campus. I trained to sing professionally during my personal leisure hours and it was good you know. I release my first single, "We take Christ to the hood" in 2009 inside Ridge recorded by Magnom. After that I recorded a number of tracks with Magnom with beats by Jayron. Other studio engineers has worked with me also and see it has been awesome like with the lives of HYM and Ezekiel.
Host: You said you are a music studio engineer now. Tell us something.
MKD Songs: yeah I'm a studio engineer since 2017. I paused a bit for some reason but now I'm back in 2022. I have two albums to my credit. One album disposed to the general public I also have four music videos on TV. I've been working with TV since 2016 including your channel.
Host: What are your last statements on the show
MKD Songs: You know I chose to do gospel music because I wanted to win souls and I believe it has worked and I know there's still more room for improvement. I have gotten a lot in cash and in-kind but my purpose still remains the same that as you listen to my music the word of God in my music shall work in your life to heal,to cause you to walk in love and lead you to your destination in God in Christ Jesus. From 2023 I'm choosing to be involved in Gospel worship, marriage counseling music, Christian hip-hop and Urban and everything I know is right.
